PORTLAND, Ore. - A man has life-threatening injuries after being shot in the head in downtown Portland early Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened in the 1000 block of Southwest 10th Avenue around 1 a.m.

The victim, identified as 26-year-old James Spence, was immediately transported to Oregon Health and Science University.
      
Detectives are following leads provided by witnesses but are not releasing suspect information. The shooting remains under investigation.
