Ore. man faces 219 child porn, sex abuse charges
BEND, Ore. (AP) – A Bend man faces 219 child pornography and sex abuse charges in an investigation that began with police on the Oregon coast.
David Anthony Windham was being held on $5.3 million bail Saturday at the Deschutes County Jail in Bend.
Deschutes County Sheriff Leuitenant Erik Utter told KTVZ-TV in Bend that detectives were contacted Wednesday by Port Orford police who were investigating the 43-year-old Windham.
Based on their information, Deschutes County detectives began an investigation and on Thursday raided Windham's home near Bend.
Windham was initially arrested on two Curry County warrants for felon in possession of a firearm and failure to register as a sex offender.
Examining the evidence from the raid led to the additional charges.
