Strong 5.3 quake rumbles off Oregon coast
COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) - A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was reported off the Oregon coast Wednesday morning. The National Earthquake Information Center says the quake was located about 85 miles west of Coos Bay, Ore., at a depth of more than 6 miles. It occurred at just after 7 a.m. The federal government's West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center reports the quake was not big enough to generate a tsunami.
