Billboard company donates space for 1998 cold case
RIDDLE, Ore. - About a half dozen billboards have gone up in different locations in southern Oregon featuring Stephanie Condon, a Riddle girl who was 14 when she disappeared from a home in Tri City in October of 1998.
The signs are being donated by the Lamar Sign Company, which purchased the vinyl and had the signs made.
Christine Condon, the girls' mother, said she is excited to see the signs go up, and it renews hope that the family may finally find out what happened to their daughter.
"I think it's a great thing, I'm hoping it's going to really give a boost in the investigation and I think it's a really generous thing for the Lamar Company to do," she said.
Lamar is putting up the signs on some of the structures which are not sold. Condon said they plan to keep alternating them at different sites around the area.
The sign mentions the reward, which is now up to $20,000 for information that helps solve the case.
The Douglas County Sheriff's cold case squad is now working on the case.
CBS's show Without A Trace has featured Stephanie Condon a couple of times to try to keep the case in front of the public, in the hopes that someone will come up with a clue that will solve the mystery.
