WEST LINN, Ore. - Three people are under arrest in connection with a rash of car break-ins in West Linn.

Since February, more than 20 cars have been broken into in the Bolton and Savannah Oaks neighborhoods.

Investigators tracked down the people they believed to be involved and took them into custody on Friday.

Two of them - William Anthony Pouppirt and Julieann Elizabeth Mosley - were found at a home in Milwaukie where a search warrant was served. Police said they found stolen items there. The two face charges of identity theft and conspiracy to commit unlawful entry to a motor vehicle.

Angela Rose Amato of West Linn was also arrested in the case and faces charges of unlawful entry to a motor vehicle and possession of methamphetamine.

Police said most of the cars that the three targeted were unlocked and many had expensive items in plain view.

"We can not stress enough that people need to be careful about leaving valuables in their cars," West Linn Police Chief Terry Timeus said in a news release. "These are crimes of opportunity. We can take that away by securing our valuables."
