Ducks, Beavers schedule set for 2013 football season

College football season has only been over for a few days, but already fans are marking their calendars for next season.
The Pac-12 on Thursday released the 2013 football schedule.
For the Ducks, key games include a visit from SEC school Tennessee on Sept. 14, a trip to play defending Pac-12 champion Stanford on Nov. 7 and the Beavers playing at Autzen on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
In addition to the Civil War game, the Beavers will also host USC on a Friday night. OSU will host Stanford on October 26 for their homecoming game.
Thanks to Pac-12 scheduling limitations, the Beavers will not have to play UCLA or Arizona in 2013, both teams from the conference’s south division.
Oregon will avoid playing USC and Arizona State.
2013 Oregon schedule:
Aug. 31 – Nicholls State
Sep. 7 – at Nevada
Sep. 14 – Tennessee
Sep. 28 – California
Oct. 5 – at Colorado
Oct. 12 – at Washington
Oct. 19 – Washington State
Oct. 26 – UCLA
Nov. 7 – at Stanford
Nov. 16 – Utah
Nov. 23 – at Arizona
Nov. 29 – Oregon State
2013 Oregon State schedule:
Aug. 31 – Eastern Washington

Sept. 21 – at San Diego State
Sept. 28 – Colorado

Nov. 1 – USC
Nov. 16 – at Arizona State
Nov. 23 – Washington
Nov. 29 – at Oregon
Wow, the Ducks play 1 good team (Stanford). And for their SEC match, they select University of TN, which had the 2nd worst SEC record for 2012. Hahahahaha.
@Unknown
The Tennessee game was scheduled 6-7 years ago (or maybe more) when Tennessee was actually pretty good. It was part of the home and home agreement. The Nichols State game is a replacement game for the home and home series that Georgia backed out of. Too bad you don't do any research before you make ridiculous posts.Â

These schedules are made 3-4 years in advance (sometimes more) and when teams back out, the other team has to scramble to fill the vacancies and sometimes a scrub team like Nichols State is all they can get.

@nwipac The other problem is that while Chip Kelly and the Ducks athletic director try to schedule the upper escheolon (sp?) of the SEC, none of those teams will travel to Eugene. They've tried to get Georgia, Alabama, Florida, LSU, etc. to come to Eugene to play but none of them want to. They claim it's too expensive and because Autzen is so small and the cash payout because of the small facility is too small to make it worth their while. I have my doubts to this being the reason. Be that as it may, it's not like Oregon doesn't try to get the SEC teams to come to Autzen. They just refuse to do it.
@nwipac I believe Nichols State replaced Georgia who backed out of a home and home. Remember, these schedules are made 3-4 years in advance. No one knows how good a team will be. When Tennessee was scheduled, they were actually pretty good. The Tennessee home and home was actually scheduled 6-7 years ago.
Goona?
Goona be a tough year for the ducks. Hope they are up for it every game this year. No stumbling like they did with Stanford.
@stinger139 meh...they should be 8-0 going into Stanford...a win there and they're BCS bound.
Beavers get screwed again. Of their 9 PAC12 games, 4 are at home and 5 are away. Go figure. But for the Ducks its the reverse - 5 home games and 4 away games. Again, go figure.
@peckishpete Beavers get screwed again? How do you figure? Last year they had 5 home PAC-12 games and 4 on the road. I believe it alternates each year since they don't play an even number of games. Don't believe me, here's a link to back it up. You need to check the fact before you post drivel like this.

@peckishpete LOL. I can't tell if you are serious. It's almost as if when you play 9 conference games, you get to play five at home every other year...just like the Beavers did in 2012 while the Ducks played 5 conference games on the road. As a matter of fact, it likely comes down to who is hosting the civil war while against all other conference foes they play four at home and four away.
Go Bevers? WTF is a Bever?
@Portlander29 Just a typical KATU staffer -- can't spell and doen's know grammar.
oops ... should be "doesn't". At least I edit my material - even if it is late.
@Portlander29 Staff writer is probably a Duck fan trying to be clever.Â
