PORTLAND, Ore. – Loved ones of a 33-year-old woman found murdered Christmas Day are desperately looking for answers and are hoping someone can find the her killer.

The family held a private memorial service for Jaime Larson Thursday in Southeast Portland.

Larson's older brother, Justin, said afterward his sister had an unforgettable smile and was a good person. He said if you met her you simply wouldn't forget her.

Larson's body was found in her Southwest Portland apartment on Christmas night. It's been more than a week and police still haven't said how she was killed. They also haven't arrested anyone or named any suspects.

Sources told KATU News she was found on Christmas Day but think she may have been killed a day or so before.

Justin Larson said any information the public may have about the case could help find the killer.

"As long as the person who murdered my sister is still out there, the community is not safe," he said. "So please help us find the person who took our daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, cousin and friend from those who loved her."

Sources also add that they're fairly certain this was not a random killing and that the public isn't at risk. They say they're looking at several angles, including people who she'd been in contact with.

The family said that everyone's support has been heartfelt and greatly appreciated. They said Jaime was a student, and the family is doing what they can to hold up during this difficult time, especially without anyone being held accountable for their loss.

They are asking anyone with information to call Portland police Detective Molly Daul at (503) 823-0991 or via email:
