PORTLAND, Ore. - Police arrested four people in connection with an assault on a 14-year-old girl on a MAX train last month.

Rakeshia Shamone Burns, 18, her 16-year-old half sister, and the 13-year-old half sister of the 16-year-old were taken into custody charged with third-degree assault, riot, second-degree disorderly conduct, harassment and interfering with public transportation.

Selena Estelle Harris, 38, the mother of Burns and her 16-year-old half sister, was also arrested for hindering prosecution. Police say she lied about her daughters' whereabouts and hid Burns and her half sister from police.

Karley Buckland reported to police that on Dec. 26, 2011 she was harassed and beat up by a gang of teenage girls on a MAX train while passengers stood by and watched.

Cell phone video of the attack made its way onto YouTube and police used it and information from Buckland to identify the suspects. Police also got tips from the public after the video was aired on local news.

Buckland had boarded the train after shopping with friends at Clackamas Town Center.

Burns and Harris were booked into the Multnomah County Jail. The two other girls who police allege were involved were taken to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention home.

Harris has been in the news before. Police say she was the mother of 19-year-old Andre Payton who was killed in a gang-related shooting in Old Town in September 2010.
