BORING, Ore. - A man who just bought a Chevrolet Corvette ended up crashing it into a power pole and knocking out electricity to folks in Boring.

The crash happened just after 9 p.m. Tuesday at Southeast Bakers Ferry Road and Highway 224.

The driver, 42-year-old Ethan Cross of Battle Ground, Washington, was not hurt, but he couldn't get out of the vehicle for more than an hour because of fallen power lines.

Cross had just purchased the car and was cited for reckless driving (police say he was speeding).

More than 2,000 homes were in the dark following the crash.
