Man badly injured in knife fight outside NE Portland tavern

PORTLAND, Ore. - A man was critically wounded in a knife fight early Friday morning.

The incident happened in the parking lot of the Venture Inn, a tavern at Northeast 139th and Sandy Boulevard.

According to police, the victim was fighting with another man sometime before 1 a.m. and shortly thereafter, a 9-1-1 call was placed.

When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground who was bleeding from several stab wounds and the suspect was gone. The victim is now in critical condition at the hospital.

A worker at a nearby convenience store who frequently works the graveyard shift said he was shocked that someone was violently attacked in the area.

The suspect is described as a black male with long, braided hair.
