Police search for suspects after man is beaten, stabbed in SE

PORTLAND, Ore. - A man was stabbed and seriously injured Wednesday night in Southeast Portland, according to police.

Matthew Booth, 23, was assaulted by several black males just before 11 p.m. near SE 157th and Division, police said.

Police said Booth was stabbed in the chest with a knife and hit with a bottle after a verbal argument on the sidewalk. Booth suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive.

No one has been arrested and police have not released any suspect descriptions.

Police said that based on witness accounts, the Gang Enforcement Team is investigating.
