Texas judge: Obama re-election could bring civil war
(CNN) -- An elected county judge in Texas is warning that the nation could descend into civil war if President Barack Obama is re-elected, and is calling for a trained, well-equipped force to battle the United Nations troops he says Obama would bring in.
The comments by Lubbock County Judge Tom Head, who oversees emergency planning efforts, were broadcast by CNN affiliate KJTV. He made similar remarks on radio station FOX Talk 950.
Saying that as the county's emergency management coordinator he has to "think about the very worst thing that can happen and prepare for that and hope and pray for the best," Head told radio host Jeff Klotzman that he believes "in this political climate and financial climate, what is the very worst thing that could happen right now? Obama gets back in the White House. No. God forbid."
Referring to unexplained "executive orders" and other documents that Obama and "his minions have filed," Head said, "regardless of whether the Republicans take over the Senate, which I hope they do, he is going to make the United States Congress and he's going to make the Constitution irrelevant. He's got his czars in place that don't answer to anybody."
Obama, Head said, will "try to give the sovereignty of the United States away to the United Nations. What do you think the public's going to do when that happens? We are talking civil unrest, civil disobedience, possibly, possibly civil war ... I'm not talking just talking riots here and there. I'm talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms, get rid of the dictator. OK, what do you think he is going to do when that happens? He is going to call in the U.N. troops, personnel carriers, tanks and whatever."
Head vowed to personally stand "in front of their personnel carriers and say, 'You're not coming in here.' And I've asked the sheriff. I said, 'Are you going to back me on this?' And he said, 'Yeah, I'm going to back you.' Well, I don't want a bunch of rookies back there who have no training and little equipment. I want seasoned veteran people who are trained that have got equipment. And even then, you know we may have two or three hundred deputies facing maybe a thousand U.N. troops. We may have to call out the militia."
Sheriff Kelly Rowe told KJTV there had been no conversation about such a civil war scenario. The two have discussed contingencies for emergency management, he said.
KJTV reported that the warning was linked to taxes. Head "indicates a tax increase is needed to shore up law enforcement to protect us," the station reported, adding that a tax increase is under consideration that "would largely benefit the district attorney and sheriff's offices. But the emphasis is more on salary competitiveness than doomsday scenarios."
Head made his controversial remarks Tuesday.
On Wednesday at a county commissioner meeting, he emphasized that his remarks were about "worst case scenario in my opinion," and added, "Do I think those are going to happen? Probably not."
County Commissioner Gilbert Flores told KJTV he was "ashamed" of Head's remarks, and told the judge, "I think you better plan to go fishing pretty soon."
Attorney Rod Hobson jokingly put up U.N. flags outside his Lubbock office, KJTV reported. "When I saw the story I thought, once again, Lubbock is going to be the laughingstock of the entire nation," said Hobson. "What makes it so sad is he is our elected county judge, who is in charge of a multi-million dollar budget. That is scary. It's like the light's on, but no one is home... I'd just like to think he's off his meds."
But video from the Wednesday meeting showed at least one citizen supporting him. "Judge Head, thank you, and God bless," one citizen said.
Head did not immediately respond to an e-mail or phone call to his office Thursday morning.
KJTV reported that an aide to Head said the judge will not be commenting for one or two days.

CBS News has a story on their site regarding the mexican drug cartel fighting a turf battle in Chicago, NOT close to the mexican border is it.......Anyone really think there will not be a civil war if the government does not step up and close the border and start tossing the garbage. America is being overrun by those that are destroying our society and our people.
Can you define "our people" just so we know who we are fighting?
@swimmer I'll make it simple so you can understand it..... In my comment I mean that "our people" are legal/lawful CITIZENS of the United States, not someone who is in the United States illegally. Count your pesos and go back across the border so you can be with yours.
well let me see, there are lots of "people" from other races and nations that are here legally. How do you make the distinction between someone who is legal vs. illegal? there are certain cartels that are working closely with white biker gangs. there are some cartels working closely with black gangs, do you want them out too?  Let me see, if there is a mexican family that has been here since before the whites came and got dual citizenship, do you want them out too or are they o.k. By the way i only live there in our winter dummy. But to answer your question about the peso, it's around 10 or 11 pesos to a dollar right now i think. Thereâs a argentine restaurant that I go to alot. they have a 3 inch thick filet of argentine beef. I pay 7.50 dollars for the dinner. isn't that what you pay for a swanson t.v. dinner freeway?   Â
 @FreerideNOT  @swimmer Ah, yes- the "if'n yer not win'em, yer agin'em" argument.
Just keep in mind DHS, Social Security, NOAA and other agencies are stocking up on large amounts of ammo.Â

Funny how well our media and politicians of BOTH parties keep us divided..otherwise we might get smart to all the money they make off of us..where else in the world can you work a job for a "couple of years" and vote to give yourself a raise, as well as get a lifetime of perks? We need to get money out of politics, get rid of these "perks" and welfare for politicians, that WE pay for, and enact term limits..because NO politician from either party will do it, it has to come from US..the voters
ICE agents aren't the only public employees fed up with Obama and the Democrats.Â
Now ICE AGENTS and their union leader are suing Janet Napolitano. And an ICE agent is accusing her of sexual harrassment.
Why isn't this on the news?
See ICEUNION.org.
All kidding aside, after all is said and done in November and either Obama stays in the White or [god forbid] Romney takes over, Â this country will undoubtedly be thrust into chaos like a turd to a sewer. This is not the same country I used to love. Somewhere along the way perhaps in another space and time its people have lost their way. It's sad really!?!
@jallard ~Â Â I hear you, jallard... I miss the America I grew up in... I know nothing stays the same forever, but there is something disturbing and very sad about the direction we have taken, as a country, in the past decade or two...
 @margay1  @jallardÂ
Â
I know and it is because of people like TimBurr.
 @jallard Perhaps the The Hope & Change, most transparent administration ever, all Bush's fault "administration" was a fraud and people woke up for some REAL change.
 @TimBurrÂ
Â
Well, that too goes both ways. I seem to recall that the Republicans were determined to stop anything that Obama tried to do, with their no compromising attitude. I have absolutely no love for either the current House of the Senate. Still, I can't say what I really think and feel at this point--if I don't want to be labeled a  traitor or terrorist --before I go on vacation in two weeks.
 @TimBurrÂ
Boy, you are a real charmer aren't you? Your response absolutely proves my point why and where our country has gone. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Â
 @jallard Vacation on the taxpayer dime?
 @jallard Read your history.  It's more of a return to the politics of the 1920's, or (god forbid) the 1850's.  The pendulum of civility in politics in this country is forever swinging back and forth.
 @FestivusÂ
And, so that makes it right and ethical? I guess I was born in the wrong century, for I surely would have been an integral part of the Green Mountain Boys, during the Revolution.
had a friend from lubbock texas in the service. after a day out we went in to town. He thought he was king of the jungle when two girls took him for a stroll. we told him that if its free there's a problem. two weeks later he comes back from the infermary with three different strains of std's. Those boys from lubbock aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. This guy just might be him- very scary if there's more then one.
@swimmer   You mean he was innocent? Kind of sad day when the innocent are taken advantage of.Â
so if we are at war should we start shooting republicans? i have afew locals on here that would make the top of my list.
crazy goes both ways.....
@Rey Arteb Oh really? Hmmmm... shooting Republicans? How absurd can one be?
 @MrAchilles  @Rey bout as absurd as a judge panicking the public about a civil war i guess.
Â
im armed and ready for a civil war, and if your not supporting your country's leader your against the country....
 @MrAchilles  For 8 years, there was a portion of the US that felt very much the same about GW Bush, it's not required that every person like the President
@MrAchilles You need to pick one as they are not interchangeable.
@TimBurr @Rey Arteb @MrAchilles You forgot he also wares green socks too..
Be afraid be very afraid
@MrAchilles ???? Socialist, Communist, Marxist..
You should learn what that is before you follow rush into battle..
Once again a mind is a terrible thing to waste...
 @MrAchilles  @Rey Been and done. Where have you been?
 @MrAchilles  @Rey Really?  'Cause We The People have the right to put one of those in the White House if that is our collective choice. Â
 @MrAchilles  @Rey tell that to the people arming them selves in texas getting ready for the war to start.
Â
and for the record i never said i wanted to shoot republicans exclusively, i was just trying to clarify the rules of this "cival war" before we get going...
@Rey Arteb Why so much naive negativity? Stating that one would like to shoot Repubs is probably going to throw anything you have to say out the window. Most likely a good bet.
 @MrAchilles  @Rey but you support a judge calling for the assassination of the president if he wins... or civil war as he called it...Â
 if your not smart enough to convince the majority of the people your view, then your view is incorrect. like the presidency for example
 @Rey Arteb  @MrAchilles Supporting Dear Leader up until the point you get thrown into the Gulag because you refused to be disarmed.
@Rey Arteb Only the ignorant will/are panicking. And no I do not and will not support a Socialist, Communist, Marxist in the White House. I guess you better shoot me.. LOL
Breaking new:
Ten employees at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are suing the Obummer administration to block a new program to let many young illegal immigrants avoid deportation and get work permit.
The 22-page filing, which names Napolitano and ICE Director John Morton as defendants, contends that the Obummer administration's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals plan violates federal law.
The suit say the mandate"unconstitutionally usurps and encroaches upon the legislative powers of Congress"
 @MrAchilles So?  Happens to every president.  Decisions are made, plans announced, and lawsuits pop up like wildflowers in the spring.  Remember a certain wire tapping program from a previous administration?
Â
You do understand that there are people who think the amnesty program is a good idea, right? Â Even if you can't spell Obama's name properly, you should at least get that point.
 @Festivus So? Well, Festivus, President Obama tried to get Congress to pass his DREAM Act to accomplish many of the same things. Congress did not agree and refused to pass the DREAM Act. The President then uses an executive order as an end-run around Congress to accomplish some of the goals of the DREAM Act. It fascinates me how many Americans are okay with an "Imperial Presidency" as long as it's a President whom they like. Consider this future scenario. The American economy is stagnant and in an effort to get it moving, the President proposes that Congress cut the then current capital gains tax of 40% to 20% to stimulate investment. The Congress debates the proposal, disagrees, and refuses to adopt the bill. The President then issues an executive order to the IRS and federal prosecutors directing that as long as taxpayers pay at least 20% on their capital gains, they are not to be prosecuted for not paying the full 40% codified in law. Would that also be a legitimate exercise of Presidential power? Or would you feel that to be an unconstitutional overreach of Presidential power that infringes on the powers of the Congress? Or - more to the point - would that depend on whether you happen to like the President in this scenario?
 @swimmer Correct, but it temporarily accomplishes two things that President Obama wanted from the DREAM Act. Namely, illegal aliens who were brought here as children won't be deported and they will have the ability to work. Game, set, and match. Nice try, though.
 @cptmac11 Ah, yes. Our favorite hyper-partisan is back with his usual swing and a miss. I don't listen to Rush - I don't like Rush - I do my own research and reach my own conclusions. Part of the DREAM Act was that President Obama didn't want illegal aliens who were brought here as children to be deported and thought that they should be able to work/attend school. His unconstitutional executive order temporarily accomplishes that. It's not rocket science but for someone who sees everything through a partisan lens, it may be too difficult a concept.
@mikew @swimmer It does what rush said it does and that's all he wants to know... sad I know but true..
"The DREAM Act is a bipartisan legislation â pioneered by Sen. Orin Hatch [R-UT] and Sen. Richard Durbin [D-IL] â that can solve this hemorrhaging injustice in our society. Under the rigorous provisions of the DREAM Act, qualifying undocumented youth would be eligible for a 6 year long conditional path to citizenship that requires completion of a college degree or two years of military service."
Deferred action only gives a two year stint of reprive from deportaion. that it.Â
 @swimmer I'm not saying that it's exactly the same thing but it does (temporarily) accomplish some of what he wanted from the DREAM Act - which Congress refused to pass. I don't care who the President is - no President should be permitted to do an end-run around Congress that way - none.
 @Festivus The sentiment helps, yes. However, executive orders are integral to the Presidency and are a prime instrument through which he or she controls the executive branch. Surely judicial review is warranted though in many cases it operates far too slowly. I also advocate voters pay attention to overreaching executive orders and oppose Presidents who issue them.
ehy mikey, you need to actually read the dream act vs. deferred action- not the same thing- not the same goals.Â
 @mikew Executive orders should probably be done away with, or at least be subject to judicial review and revision.
Â
Does that help? Â
oops.. LOLÂ I used a word this forum does not like.. Let me repeat myself with acrinyms.
Â
I was just spreading the news... Don't get your panties in a bunch because you have an issue with me calling Obummer what he is. Let's see, will you also throw a hissy fit if I call Romney "Mitt the twit"? My understanding of all this BS is beyond your imagination.Â
@GetOverYourself Initialism if you are going to be picky.
@GetOverYourself I knew you were there!! Haha.. I know.. Katu made me mad for a minute. Did not read before hitting Post Comment.
@MrAchilles Acronyms.
@Festivus Bahahahahaha Whining does not get you anywhere either. Nuns didnt teach ya that?
 @MrAchilles Assuming I was wearing panties, they wouldn't be in a bunch over 3rd grade behavior.  The good nuns at St. Joseph's apparently taught me lessons at the end of a ruler about civility you haven't internalized yet.
