Hood River juicer pleads guilty to polluting charges
SALEM, Ore. (AP) - The owner of Hood River Juice Co. has pleaded guilty in a criminal pollution case involving a wastewater disposal system. Oregon Attorney General John Kroger said Thursday that company owner David Ryan and the corporation pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of supplying false information to an agency and water pollution. A plea agreement requires Ryan to serve three years on probation and either 48 hours in jail or 80 hours of community service. Hood River Juice must hire a certified operator approved by the Department of Environmental Quality to monitor and inspect the company's wastewater disposal system. The company has until Dec. 15 to move to a new site that is adequately equipped to handle wastewater disposal. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
