Paper: Fed decision clears way for La Center tribal casino

LA CENTER, Wash. - The Cowlitz Indian tribe has taken a major step toward winning the right to build a new casino, according to the Columbian newspaper in Vancouver.

The Bureau of the Interior approved the tribe's acquisition of 152 acres near the Interstate 5 interchange in La Center for a reservation.

The decision allows the tribe to operate card games, slot machines, and other types of casino gaming.
