At least one Portland store is holding off the Christmas decor until the day after Thanksgiving.
Nordstrom managers told KATU News the store's long-standing policy of no Christmas cheer until Black Friday is still true this year.
It’s a stark difference from other stores, like Wal-Mart, which just had an “early black Friday” last weekend.
Nordstrom is sneaking in some holiday-like promotions on its website, but the red and green will stay out of stores until Thanksgiving is over.
The National Retail Federation calls Nov. 1 the start of the holiday season. It predicts an increase in holiday spending this year, projecting the average shopper will spend more than $700.
