Freightliner official says more jobs may go away
PORTLAND, Ore. - More changes may be on the way for the Freightliner Plant located on Swan Island in Portland.
In response to questions from KATU News, a spokesperson told us several white collar jobs at the truck manufacturer could be pulled from Portland and moved to a city outside of Oregon, possibly near the East Coast.
No specific location was given. The company says it would be a small fraction of employees.
In March of this year, more than 700 Portland employees were laid off from assembly lines and other positions in the company.
Freightliner is owned by DaimlerChrysler.
