One of the victims in yesterday’s Clackamas Town Center shooting was well known in Portland marketing and broadcasting circles.

Steve Forsyth, 45, was general sales manager for the Entercomm radio group and also founded the West Linn-based Big Feat Marketing company.

He was one of two victims who died after apparently being shot by 22-year-old Jacob Tyler Roberts. Roberts died of a self-inflicted wound, according to Clackamas County law enforcement authorities.

According to a 2007 Business Journal story, Forsyth had attained “Professional Certified Marketer designation” with the American Marketing Association. His company was formed in 2007.

Forsyth also penned a 2007 article for the Business Journal on “return on investment marketing.”

A statement from his family lauded his “entrepreneurial spirit.”

Dennis Glasgow worked with Forsyth for the Entercomm radio group.

“It’s still pretty shocking,” said Glasgow, who last worked as program director for the KPAM radio station. “He was a very popular guy, very gregarious. He was a smart business guy and a good radio man.”

Cindy Ann Yuille, a 54-year-old Northeast Portland resident, was also killed in the shootings.
