Domino's founder sues feds over health care law

DETROIT (AP) - The founder of Domino's Pizza is suing the federal government over mandatory contraception coverage in the health care law.
Tom Monaghan, a devout Roman Catholic, says contraception isn't health care but a "gravely immoral" practice.
He filed a lawsuit Friday in federal court. It also lists as a plaintiff Domino's Farms, a Michigan office park complex that Monaghan owns.
Monaghan offers health insurance that excludes contraception and abortion for employees. The new federal law requires employers to offer insurance including contraception coverage or risk fines.
Monaghan says the law violates his rights, and is asking a judge to strike down the mandate. There are similar lawsuits pending nationwide.
A message left Saturday for Monaghan's attorney, Richard Thompson, was not immediately returned.
The government says the contraception mandate benefits women.

I just notified my friends to boycott Domino. Spread out the words.
Typical conservative narrowed minded people for idiots.
Diamonds may be the toughest thing around, but even they "CAN SHATTER" and this is what people will keep doing to the health care law in the mandatory contraception issue, there will be a blow that will shatter it one of these days.
Employees are not the pets of their employer and they should not be forced to eat whatever dog food their employer deems to feed them.
Just another reason that the Health Care law should be single payer and administrated by the government like medicaid; every employer pays in for each employee for every hour worked and every American has basic coverage and preventive health care. Any "plan" will suffer and cost the tax payer more as long as medicine is treated as an Industry for Profit.
Â
Too many employers and institutions bring the specious argument that their personal dogmatic beliefs should limit the care afforded to others. By this logic; some religious business owners could deny medical coverage at all because they don't believe in medicine and lay everything in the hands of God.  Praying doesn't put gas in a car or fixed the plumbing.
Â
Bottom-line:Â FREEDOM doesn't force a person to pray for the Medical Care they require.

@SerenityWowz   """""""his employees having a choice? """"""
Just wondering, how does this lawsuit effect "choice"??? the lawsuit is over whether insurance companies must give free birth control to women or have them pay for it themselves.... How does that effect choice?
Bacially it means giving birth control to women at no charge and spreading that cost to everyone via higher premiums or should women be responsible for themselves.

@SerenityWowz  Its part of  BarryCare.....  just one of the many "freebies"  that the rest of us get to pay for in higher premiums.Â
