Oregon, Washington gas prices up about 25 cents in last month

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The AAA auto club reports the average price of gasoline in Oregon is $3.80.
That's up 2 cents in a week and 24 cents in a month. It's 10 cents higher than the national average, which dropped a nickel in a week.
Some metro prices from Monday's AAA survey:
Portland $3.79, Salem $3.81, Eugene-Springfield $3.86, Medford-Ashland $3.83.
In Washington, AAA says the average price of gasoline is $3.81.
That's 2 cents higher than a week ago and 25 cents higher than a month ago. It's 11 cents higher than the national average, which has dropped a nickel in a week.
Some metro prices from Monday's AAA survey:
Bellingham $3.98, Bremerton $3.86, Seattle-Bellevue-Everett $3.89, Tacoma $3.88, Olympia $3.90, Vancouver $3.83, Yakima $3.66, Tri-Cities $3.54, Spokane $3.47.
Try .70 cents... it went from 3.29 to 3.79 at the station by my house...Â
1) President has nothing to do gas prices.
2) Keystone XL is about EXPORTING oil, sp won't do anything for gas prices.
3) Remember, the oil companies make $#20-30 Billion profit EACH QUARTER. But they gotta have their $5 Billion annual federal subsidy or the world will end!
4) If they ever get an independent audit of the production and maintenance schedules for the major US refineries (and my company would do it for free), expect the American public to be camped outside the corporate headquarters with pitchforks and torches . . . .
Billings MT. $3.05 / Gal...say what??
Bellingham $3.98, Bremerton $3.86, Seattle-Bellevue-Everett $3.89, Tacoma $3.88, Olympia $3.90, Vancouver $3.83, Yakima $3.66, Tri-Cities $3.54, Spokane $3.47..
And the highest gas prices in Texas is $3.49 the average lower price is $3.20..
Gee I wonder why.???
Oil companys call it freedom at a price....
Since trading in my gas guzzling 4x4 pickup for an economy car I hardly notice price increases all that much anymore. I still miss my gas guzzler though.
And soon, some Congressman worried about re-election will publicly start making noises about an investigation of price fixed and then the prices will drop for a few months until the next excuse for running up the gas prices and the cycle will repeat.

@Welfair Chick Your an idiot.
yup! add to that the fact gas prices are up 25 cents or more in january and another 25 cents or more in december, allmost a whole dollar a gallon since obama got re elected! and you all voted for him knowing this and much more would happen! he told us all before his first term! remember "under my green plan, if i am elected gas and energy prices will NESSESARALLY skyrocket! so when you pay 70 dollars or more to fill up at the pump soon, BLAME YOURSELVES!
@john Wow, wasn't this same thing said after gas shot up when George W was in his second term? Try using original material. Oh yeah, before you say it, I am not a registered Democrat.
@Azacabazle but at the same time there are still a lot of idiots that actually believe the president has any control over the cost of gas, so when they see the price nose dive right before an election they fall for the trap. As always the price goes right back up. It would seem the corrupt system wants to keep the corrupt piece-of-shiats in office longer, apparently it works judging by all the idiots that keep voting for these clowns.

@TheUglyTruth @Dr. Rawdog @john Really ugly? you haven't heard. You deaf?
@TheUglyTruth @Dr. Rawdog @johnÂ
Who's "everyone?" Â The president can't change the price of gas, unless you want President Obama to be an ACTUAL socialist, instead of the boogyman you wingnuts made him into to scare yourselves around the campfire.
If you're going to quote, you should at least use an actual quote.

@Welfair ChickÂ
Especially since you misspelled "welfare" in your moniker. Â I kind of think people know what they're going to get in any exchange with you.
Guess I will have to take some blame for this hike in gas prices. Just like washing a car brings on rain, I just purchased a used
F150 crew cab pickup 4x4. Not the best mileage in the world but a really sweet ride none the less. My Bad.
Getting ready for spring break vacationers, I see...I know how this game is played. Rolling up the prices in preparation for a big profit margin in the vacation time frames.Â

@TheUglyTruth Sticking it to the people who make the country, while giving it to the people who take it...... THEY are screwed. Ha ha ha ha ..
Now that's the republican response...Glad I could help you out with that thanks for stopping by...
Sticking it to us? Gas is heavily subsidized by the government anyway. This is a lot cheaper than it "should" be.
@Oregon7812Â Well said. Â Europeans shake their heads in wonder when we complain about our gas prices. Â Oil companies get subsided but still post record profits. Â Auto manufacturers could have been making more fuel efficient cars for much longer than they have, but they didn't have the incentive because subsidized gas was so cheap that consumers didn't care about fuel efficiency. Â
@yesiam @LovesLilies @Oregon7812 Nope.  But quick geography lesson--Venezuela isn't in Europe, it's in South America.
What to know why gas is so cheap in Venezuela? Â Since the discovery of oil in the early 20th century, Venezuela has been one of the world's leading exporters of oil, and it is a founding member of OPEC. Â Venezuela has some of the largest oil reserves in the world, and consistently ranks among the top ten world crude oil producers.Â
According to the CIA's website regarding proven oil reserves, Venezuela has over 10 times the amount of barrels in reserve that the US has. Â Â
@LovesLilies @Oregon7812 You Do realize gas is $.27 cents a gal in Venezuela right???
