Excuse me but I have never seen so many negative comments about something that is so good. Don't like the name; don't like the location. For Heaven's sake, be glad that it's here. I sure am. I am happy anytime something positive occurs in the Portland area, wherever it may be.
Regardless of where the aquarium is at or what it is called, I applaud the fact that its here. What a wonderful addition to the community and how exciting to be able to view these animals any time we wish. Thanks to all for the hard work and effort put forth to bring something so magnificent to the Portland area.
What a terrible name for the aquarium.....It is not located in Portland.....change the name.
We have an aquarium back in Virginia, we call it the fish market
Â
seriously tho, glad we got one here, they are great, should have been at OMSI tho
I would have thought OMSI would have been a natural location for an aquarium. Oh, well.
That's a weird place for a wholesome tourist attraction like this. I wonder if they are going to have video lottery JK.
Good. That area is a blight. It consists most of payday loan places, used car lots and strip clubs. It is good to see it get something like this. Also, the businesses (restaurants, gas stations, etc) in the area have to like this.Â
Um KATU, can we get the correct Location, it seems that some here are stating it is not in "Portland" per-se
Â
@lee986321Â Â Is16323 S.E. McLoughlin Blvd. not the correct location?Â
@lee986321 "The Portland Aquarium" is the proper name not the location. It could be located in Florida and still be called "The Portland Aquarium".
 @JTesla  @lee986321 Or even in Maine :-)
the aquarium is not in portland,, it is in Milwaukie.
Well now I have a reason to go to Portland.
39 full time jobs, I'm really surprized the democrats let this happen. They'll probably be paying taxes too! What a shame.
 @HopeAndChangeÂ
Â
That's why it's in Milwakie not Portland.
Â
It would not have made it in Portland.
Â
@HopeAndChange And you had to make this political. Do you have anything better to do than spread your hate around?
Very cool. I agree with Quando, though. Portland would be much more attractive if we had designed it differently. Through the eyes of visitors, the attractions are spread out and not strategically placed. Guess the owner had a good reason for going with Milwaukie instead of Portland. Looking forward to checking it out.
How exciting! Too bad it's not on the westside, but still so nice to have one in Portland! Can't wait to visit! Those stingrays are beautiful.
 @QuandoQuandoQuando Why should it be on the Westside? Is there something wrong with the Eastside? It's about time the Eastside received some development money from Portland. And I am VERY glad that this aquarium was put in where it is at.
Â
Those stingrays are good eating also.
