PORTLAND, Ore. -- Voodoo Doughnut has certainly made its mark in Portland, attracting long lines of locals and tourists to its two locations in Portland and one in Eugene.

Now the baker of those sticky confections is heading to the mountains. Sorry Mount Hood, these mountains are in Colorado, in Denver to be exact.

As co-owner Tres Shannon told the Oregonian, Denver made sense as a first out-of-state expansion target because of its similarity to Portland. Shannon said he and co-owner Kenneth "Cat Daddy" Pogson found the perfect location on East Colfax, a "great gritty avenue, which used to be really, really scary and sleazy."
