Intriguing video helps launch TechTown Portland collaboration
A still frame from the "TechTown Porltand" video by Uncage the Soul Video Production.

Uncage the Soul did it again. You know, the video production people behind Finding Portland. At last check, the latter video has nearly 500,000 views on Vimeo, and the new release is well on its way with more than 8,000 views in just a few weeks.

Both videos are selling Portland's flair. Those fancy, and might I add flying, camera angles know how to highlight the best of Stumptown. This time around it’s all about "TechTown".

The video features eleven local startups, along with their chic offices and relaxed work environments, that have recently joined together to create TechTown Portland.

Krista Berlincourt, spokeswoman for one of the local startups, Simple, describes TechTown Portland as “a collaborative effort focused on up leveling the Portland startup ecosystem and recruiting top-notch talent.”

Berlincourt feels the Portland startup scene is often overlooked, despite a recent milestone for Oregon.

“Last year, Oregon surpassed Washington (yep, big bad Seattle included) in venture capital for the first time in 20 years, and software jobs in Oregon are growing at a double-digit percentage rate,” Berlincourt said.  She hopes TechTown Portland will help the trend continue.

Portland overlooked for much longer? Nah. Just watch the view stats below, and Stumptown's startups continue to soar.
