Jefferson High principal placed on leave after protest
PORTLAND, Ore. - The principal of Jefferson High School in Portland has been placed on leave less than a week after students walked out of classrooms in protest.
A letter was sent home to parents Tuesday telling them Leon Dudley has been placed on leave through the end of the school year.
Students have repeatedly shown their displeasure since Dudley's arrival in the Fall of 2006.
They even booed Dudley off stage at an assembly last month.
Last Thursday, students walked off campus to protest a new restricted lunch period.
