'Two and a Half Men' actor calls his show 'filth'

NEW YORK (AP) - The teenage actor who plays the half in the hit CBS comedy "Two and a Half Men" says in a video posted online by a Christian church that the show is "filth" and that viewers shouldn't watch it.
Nineteen-year-old Angus T. Jones has been on the show, which used to feature bad-boy actor Charlie Sheen and remains heavy with sexual innuendo, since he was 10 but says he doesn't want to be on it anymore.
"Please stop watching it," Jones said. "Please stop filling your head with filth."
Jones plays Jake, the son of Jon Cryer's uptight divorced chiropractor character, Alan, and the nephew of Sheen's hedonistic philandering music jingle writer character, Charlie. Sheen, who has publicly criticized CBS, was fired and replaced by Ashton Kutcher, who plays billionaire Walden.
In the video posted by the Forerunner Christian Church in Fremont, Calif., Jones describes a search for a spiritual home. He says the type of entertainment he's involved in adversely affects the brain and "there's no playing around when it comes to eternity."
"You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that," he said. "I know I can't. I'm not OK with what I'm learning, what the Bible says, and being on that television show."
Show producer Warner Bros. Television had no comment Monday. CBS didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
"Two and a Half Men" survived a wild publicity ride less than two years ago, when Sheen was fired for his drug use and publicly complained about the network and the show's creator, Chuck Lorre.
The show was moved from Monday to Thursday this season, and its average viewership has dropped from 20 million an episode to 14.5 million, although last year's numbers were somewhat inflated by the intense interest in Kutcher's debut. It is the third most popular comedy on television behind CBS's "The Big Bang Theory" and ABC's "Modern Family."

Wow, people are so flipp'n negative! Sounds like a whole lot of jealousy going on here. Money isn't everything. The kid was basically ''sold" into this show when he was a kid by his parents and never had any say. Now that he is an adult and stuck on contract probably fanagled by one of those "mom-angers" he has no control over what he does. Good for him for standing up and having an opinion. Just because he's getting paid doesn't mean he should just bend over and take it, he couldn't get out right now due to a contract. So it's okay for people to feel emotionally rapped as long as they are bringing in the big bucks? Who cares how it makes you feel, who cares how unhappy you are, who cares if it goes against your beliefs? He's allowed an opinion just like everyone else. He mentions having morals and a Christian faith and people are throwing out angry, nasty comments below. Wow people, just wow.
Good for him! His parents saw some big money to be made exposing their son to this filth at a very young age! Sometimes children do not have a voice at what their parents make them do. Now he has a voice, and he does not want to be part of filth filled TV shows! For those who are upset with that, who are you to say he is wrong! It is what he wants, a better life without garbage that fills this world and peoples heads! Good for you Angus, smart young man!!
@BlessedLife Replacing one flavor of "filth" with another is not the recipe for a better life. This dingbat is as uneducated as they come, listen to his clamoring about being "saved" - I recall him spewing nothing but repeated mantra about how wonderful the bible is and about 30,000 "ums" in the interim.Â
Â
Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort will enjoy their new plaything.
So they didn't agree to renew his contract? He was a lousy actor and was only funny when very young, Charlie made the show and its over.
When the show first begin I wondered "what parent would allow their young son to appear on a show which promotes men sleeping around with women like they were nothing to care about". He was a young man just doing what he was taught to do. This is why there are age limits in life because people are not ready to make decisions until they reach a certain age. He is now old enough to see he can make decisions that do not necessarily agree with the adults that hover around him. He just has to figure out the smartest way to handle the situation. Comments condemning him sound like they come from jealous people. Jealous people are ignorant. Such as one comment, he should give back all the money he earned. That would be like telling people, if you are leaving the company your working for because you don't like them, you should pay back everything they paid you. He earned it, and maybe he can figure out away to use it for good. Good for him, I hope it all works out well. He did say he used drugs, everyone I have ever met who used drugs, used drugs because they were miserable in the circumstances they were in, it was a coping device. Good for him, he saw what he needed to do. Maybe if he has to stay and suffer, he can hit back with spiritual beliefs to counter the evil attacks.
I liked the show when Sheen was on it. Â Now that Ashton is on, Â the show is terrible I wont watch it.... it is filth. Â The boy is correct.
@sortbait ............"the boy is correct" Question for you: How can a hypocrite be correct?
Biting the hand that feeds you is ok I guess after you have taken millions from those hands?
@wvboy he earned it, it was his parents choice that put him there; children do what they are told until they get to a certain age and figure out a way to stand on their own. He has wised up, and ready to move on and do what he wants to do.
Good point.
He's Christain and therefore is a greedy, money hungry hypocrite. Fire the idiot and let him cry to the phantom Jesus.
@Phx2Pdx I think you have issues.
Sounds like Angus is going to the Charlie Scheen school of good judgement......
Arrogant jackhole if the show is such crap quit, you cant sit there and complain that the show is filth while you are still cashing the paychecks you get for being on it.
I was thinking the same thing but he's probably under contract and can't quit.Â
I hear the scientologist's are hiring.... Praise the lord!
Took him 9 years and millions of dollars in pay to decide the show was filth. What a sanctimonious arse.
@peckishpete in fairness, he is and has been a developing person. He was a child when he started the show. People are forging opinions and personalities when they are children/teens.
So let's see -- he's made upwards of $65million over the years and now that it's likely the show will be kaput at the end of the next season, NOW he's calling it filth. Â Anyone care to take bets that in 5-10 years he's whining about not receiving all the residuals he's "due" from re-runs, DVD sales? Â Yo, little Angus -- apparently those people at your new 'church' didn't teach you about never looking a gift horse in the mouth. Â It'll come back to haunt you, kiddo.
the show just isn't funny any more! and hasn't been for a long time. In the beginning I like Ashton K., but the story lines are just stupied
@cmhuston Kutcher can't act to save his life. The show is done for.
@Jamie .......on this we agree. Kutcher couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.
The actor's comments sound like religious brainwash, but who cares - he called this worthless show for what it is.
Christian....! You're done, only Jews get to act, direct, or produce in this country!
well quit then and give another actor a chance Im sure you did not mind spending all theat DIRTY money oh please get over it
@skyguypdx What a crock! This kid has made more money in 9 years than I have made in 40+ years of hard work! And in the intro to his sitcom, he sure looks exploited.... Men, Men, Men, Men, manly men, men, men..... Ewwwwwww... whoooo... Give me a break!
Good for him, Christians are called to live in holiness.  I'm concerned though, the church he's involved in may have some aberrant teaching, Mike Bickle for example is someone who is in error.
@Robert Perhaps Angus didnât get the message that he needs to give away all his wealth, don his horse hair shirt, and head to the desert.
@Robert Why is Bickle in error? Please explain that.
Called by whom? I didn't get the memo. I thought all religions had aberrant teachings in relation to what sciences provides us.
Hopefully he keeps his millions well invested cause he is done acting. The industry does not take kindly to those who criticize it at this level.
Â
So called Christians often take advantage of folks like this and if he doesn't watch his money it will soon be gone. I have seen this happen over and over. My grandmother was a victim of a pastor who took everything she had and left her on welfare. I have see several friends over the years lose everything they have to a so called Christian.
Don't ya just love Hollywood people! They make tons of money working in a fantasy world and after they've made theirs, they start preaching about whtanthenrest of us should do and not do. What a self righteous pompous jerk this kid turned out to be. Wait, it's Hollywood. The whole place is full of these kinds of people !
Jones stated "You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that," thats right Angus - Love who you fear, the essence of the sadomasochist. I personally think sadomasochism is filth.
What a hypocritical teenage twit..... If the show is too filthy to watch, then it damn sure is to filthy of a place to work.
Â
There is an old saying that the number one cause of athiests is christians........ And Mr. Jones seems to prove this to be true.
@kramr Couldn't agree with you more, my friend.
Well, What he says is true and it is his way of "Sticking it to the producers" It takes a lot of guts and curage to take a stand like that and he must be commended for it, I guess those who watch it and disagree with he kids action are filled with filth so.. I do hope it gets cancelled soon personally I think they can stick something better in that time slot.Mr Jones seems to have his head on straight and one dissing this young mans decision seems to like the show. I hate it and never will watch it.
@lee986321 i cant stand this show its moronic humor has not been funny in years, however for him to sit there and complain that the show is filth and beg people not to watch while happily collecting a paycheck from the studio is the height of hypocrisy.
Teenage American Idiot.
What an idiot. Let's hope he remembers how 'filthy" the show is when he arrives at his big house after a day of shooting on the set, or when he puts the key into a nice car that's probably paid for, or when he can put food in his fridge, clothes on his back and take care of his family and go anywhere he wants. Ungrateful jerks. But then....now that he's growing out of his little kid "cuteness", he probably sees that he won't be finding much in the way of work down the line. But let's keep calling the money in the bank "filth". Talk about the hand that feeds you.
Good for him.
This story almost kinda sounds like an audition for Trinity Network's Two and a Half Christians starring Kirk Cameron, Stephen Baldwin and Angus T. Hypocrite.
Â
I hope the creators of 2.5men can his ass. He earns $350K a flipin show and he has the nerve to slam it. I would ask him to walk his talk and quit the show or STFU
@kramr He can't quit, he's under contract. He'd either have to get fired or finish out his contract.
@scoreboard @kramr Well... If he is sooooo passionate about his 'beliefs'???? Perhaps he could give all his money back and walk away....
 @kramr Money isn't everything.
This boy needs a shot of Charlie's 'tiger blood' ......
Kirk Cameron was needing some help, so now he has Angus.
