Bieber's mom produces anti-abortion short film

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Justin Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, is an executive producer on an upcoming anti-abortion short film.
The makers of "Crescendo" hope to raise $10 million for pregnancy centers at screenings worldwide starting Feb. 28. Mallette herself will appear at some of these, said production company Movie to Movement on Friday.
The pop star's mother has written and spoken extensively about the addiction and abuse that led to her teenage pregnancy.
Mallette said in a statement she hopes her involvement with "Crescendo" will "encourage young women all over the world, just like me, to let them know that there is a place to go, people who will take care of you and a safe home to live in if you are pregnant and think you have nowhere else to turn."

Which one is the mom? Â I can't tell
It's sad to see all the anti-abortion people out there, constantly beating their chests about what a sad, horrible thing that millions of fetuses die each year. But why aren't they reacting the same way about all of the actual kids who are ALIVE and living in poverty, suffering from malnutrition, abuse, and so many other maladies?
Â
Could it be that to do so would require them to actually have to do something to help? After all, a fetus doesn't need to be found food or clothing, be educated, be housed or loved. It just has to be born...and that's all they really care about.
Â
Now don't get me wrong. I am against abortion as a means of birth control. But in the end, the choice belongs to the mother and no one else. The kids that ARE here already should take a much higher priority than fetuses...but I suppose that it's easier to yak, yak, yak about the unborn than to actually DO something about those that are already here. They're someone else's problem, aren't they?
@Mikey Wow, than you must be doing everything you possibly can to take care of those living children right?
He is looking more like Vanilla Ice every day.
 @denb Ouch! LMAO!
Cool, Nicwe to see some stars supporting the "Pro Life" side of things
@lee986321 It's a Pro Pre-Life side of things, Lee. Pro-Life is about ALL life, not just that which doesn't cost anything to support.
Good for her for doing what she knows is right.
@poorsob Or will make her the most money in returns.
I don't think she'll have to worry about her son getting any women pregnant.
She is not the best Advocate for Anti-Abortion. If she had had one we would not be stuck with her Whelp on the internet everyday.
That and his new hairdo are what I'd call career killers. He'll be a D-lister by the time he's 20.
She has a right to more than her opinion.Â
Â
Look at people every day  - in Hollywood or all around the globe, who stand up and make a difference.Â
Good on her. - for standing up for what she KNOWS is right.Â
Â
Whether she is Justin Bieber's mom or not. She has a right.Â
@englishdaisy Others might disagree, which is why it's called *opinion*.
Â
I don't have an issue with opinion, I do have an issue with trying to legislate morality, and since the article is nonspecific as to which tack this movie takes, I reserve judgement on this decision entirely. I am certainly not crucifying or criticizing her.
Meh, she has a right to her opinion. I hope the "anti abortion" film is more along the lines of "Don't do it" rather than trying to legislate restrictions on womens' choices.
Â
My own wonderful husband happens to be a product of a teenage date rape, and while we are both overjoyed his own mother chose to continue her pregnancy, we are also both staunch supporters of a woman's right to choose.
Â
In this particular case, Beiber's mom's choice, at the very least, made her a very rich woman, LOL. She won the "accidental pregnancy lottery".
On the flip side, giving birth to Bieber is a strong case against her arguments.Â
@moej Now that I actually read the article, I wonder if he got brain damage from the addiction and abuse ;-)
@SocietyToday  @moej From Moej on down - rude, rude and ruder. But then when someone posts comments like that - they surely don't ethically promote any opposing opinion. That's for sure.Â
Â
Good on her - for being totally and completely TRUE to herself and to others she can 100 percent relate to. Walk a mile in her shoes - and then stand up like she is  - and know her actions are going to HELP others. Absolutely and totally help others.Â
Â
It's all good - what she is doing. And she knows so.Â
@englishdaisy If her little Justina hadn't turned out to be a talentless cash cow fluke, but a brain-dead, crack-smoking junkie, she'd probably be wishing she'd had an abortion.
She has money now, and she's undoubtedly found some leeching preacher-guru who's convinced her that she's found Jesus and because she's paying for the privilege, thinks that she can push her opinion onto others.
@englishdaisy  @SocietyToday  @moej Yes, but what she "knows" is only her opinion. It is not undisputed fact.
@moej LMAO!! I was thinking the same thing! He always has the same stupid, eye brow raising, look on his face. She looks just about as dumb as he does, I really can't stand him!!
@moej Can I like your statementa few thousand times?
