Hulk Hogan sues surgery clinic for $50 million
CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - Wrestler Hulk Hogan has filed a lawsuit against the Tampa-based Laser Spine Institute, saying the clinic did unnecessary surgeries that damaged his career.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that Hogan filed the lawsuit Monday. He filed under his real name, which is Terry Bollea. It seeks damages of $50 million.
In addition to claiming unnecessary surgeries, the lawsuit also says the Laser Spine Institute used an endorsement from Hogan without permission or payment.
The Laser Spine Institute says it is aware of the lawsuit, but to protect patient privacy, it does not want to discuss details of the case.
This lawsuit screams desperation........
He's running out of money. Down to less than 5 mil.
@RalphCramden I checked his net worth the other day. You are right. I was surprised to see it that low. I mean this guy was huge. I thought maybe he would invest and hold his money better.
He got divorced
 @GNTLwarriorÂ
These folks live like they will be making big money forever. Few save money and often times lose it in divorce which is what happened with Hogan.
Â
Lindsey Lohan had spent over 30 million and is almost broke. Pam Anderson and Nicholas Cage are also almost broke.
Met Hogan at the opening of Billy Jack's gym in Oregon City. Â I was a kid and I will never forget our conversation...
Â
Me: "WOW, you look a lot bigger in person than on TV"
Hogan: "Buy a bigger TV set brother....."
Â
Cracks me up to this day!
Many years ago when he wrestled for what was still the WWF they came to Portland, OR he was supposed to appear on an afternoon talk show, since it was highly advertised that afternoon the audience was filled with parents and their little boys who wanted to meet Hulk Hogan. Â His agent called the show sometime during the day and informed them that his client would not be making an appearance on the show unless he was paid, which they didn't do and which they told everyone why he wasn't there to meet his "Lil Hulksters", in order to not have an audience filled with upset children the show was able to get 6 other WWF stars to come to them to meet the kids. Â This group said it is because of these children and their parents that they even have a job. Â
"Wrestler Hulk Hogan has filed a lawsuit...saying the clinic...damaged his career."
Â
He destroyed whatever "career" he had a long time ago.
One can only be a cartoon for so long.

I was under the impression that Bollea's antics are what damaged whatever career he thought he had. He has squandered more money than most people ever have and he should be eternally grateful for a society that all too often lavishly rewards people who lack real contributions to society. Now that he doesn't have much left, he is looking for ways to get more money and keep his face in the media. Of course as long as the media panders to these fools they will continue to exist.
He is only looking for a payout and not a trial. So when the questions come up (and they will) about possible past use of certain subsyances that make your nads smaller; causing his early demise from the ring - then what? I say he drops the suit. He wants to settle out of court - and just might get his way. people like him have no shame however, so its hard to say how far he wil push it.
I thought old age was what stopped his career who new...
I am thinking he is more mad about "Laser Spine Institute used an endorsement from Hogan without permission or payment."
@dkgiovenco Yep it is all about the money I bet...
