No charges against Octomom on neglect allegations

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Prosecutors won't file charges against Octomom Nadya Suleman after a caregiver last month reported allegations of child neglect at her home, an official at the district attorney's office said Friday.
There's not enough evidence to move forward with the case submitted by the La Habra police department, said Susan Kang Schroeder, chief of staff at the Orange County district attorney's office.
Earlier Friday, police in La Habra said they had investigated the allegations of child neglect at Suleman's home and turned their findings over to prosecutors and social services. Police declined to provide details of the allegations.
Suleman has been in the media spotlight since giving birth to octuplets in 2009 after she already had six children. Her manager says she lived in La Habra until two weeks ago, when she moved to the Los Angeles County city of Palmdale.
Suleman's manager, Gina Rodriguez, said the allegations are not true and come from a woman who became obsessed with the children. Suleman moved from La Habra in part to avoid the woman, Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez said the woman befriended Suleman shortly after the babies were born and eventually began stalking Suleman and sending her threatening text messages, demanding to see the children.
"None of the allegations are true," Rodriguez said in an email. "This is a woman who became obsessed with the children and contacted me to help her write a book."

Each one of those children is a valuable human being, including their mother. I think she is amazing to be able to care for so many and be so dedicated to them. She must have really good organizing skills. there are a lot of people out there that could use some of her management techniques. How about some encouragement? I'm not proud of the hateful comments.
What would happen if the Duggar husband left- like John of Kate + 8? What's the difference between those women and this woman? She happened to get in on the Cheaper by the Dozen trend, just as it was losing popularity. Never have given those a tv deal, and see where they would have been today! They're all nuts to have that many kids in the first place. Why these other women are getting rewarded and sympathized over, is beyond me!Â
She seems to have a few screws loose. The doctors that assisted this breeding machine seem to have had some loose screws also.
It is too bad really. But society allows this to happen...
Why don't they just leave this woman and her "Kids" alone. The only reason people squawk is because she is single. If it was a husband and wife there would have been a loss of interest right away. Her looks are no ones business. The older Kids are old enough to help watch the babies.
Neglect? With 14 kids? How could that be? Who could have seen that coming??!!
I've seen sheep more attractive than her.

Color me shocked.
This is a real waste of a human life here. Â Sorry for the 14 kids who are going to end up really messed up.
The look on that goofballs face tells it all.
guess she will be doing more porn to get some extra help
@LostSoul - a LOT more.
14 Children.
Â
In Oregon if you wanted to be a child care provider, you would need at least two people for just the 8 youngest, then 2 more for the next 6.
Â
So unless she has 4 helpers, she would not qualify for the MINIMUM number of caretakers in Oregon.
Â
So yeah, not surprised. 14 kids, more children than are on a little league baseball team.
Â
@Repoman Are you talking about Certified Family CHild Care? If you are...then I stand corrected...however, there's actually no specific number for the amount of kids...it goes according to clock hours of training (20 to 30 hours of specified training). They don't break the ratios up per amount of kids...which can be up to 16 in a certified home. If you're just licensed and registered as a childcare provider, then you can have the 10 maximum by yourself.
 @Bewitchin1Â
Â
I got my information from here:

Â
Trust the innerwebz it are never wrongzor! :)
Â
Bear in mind her youngest fall into the "toddler" range and she only has two that fall into the "school age" range.
Â
Those measurements it would state 4 helpers.
Â
Not that it matters, I doubt she is the most diligent parent around. Who thinking clearly would want to have 8 children at once after having 6 already and do that by yourself?
@Repoman @Bewitchin1  That website is never updated...I used to use it. Try the actual state of Oregon one...it's in PDF :) But as you said...it really doesn't matter. Thank god I was finally able to get out of that after so long. But you know...I saw her on some show a couple of weeks ago, and she has really changed from that blithering idiot she was when she had the kids. She's well spoken, and knows what she needs to do to take care of the kids. I'm not as down on her as I use to be...can't fault someone for trying to do for her kids. I question her smarts at having that many...but then her fertility doctor should have been "shot" for doing the procedure too :(
@Repoman  Sorry Repo...that's not true. The satute states that a provider can care for a maximum of 10 children under the age of 13, or 18 years of age if a special needs child. Of the 10, she can have a maximum of 6 preschool age or younger (including her own children) of which 2 must be 24 months or younger. The remaining 4 that make the 10 max are of school age. This will include neighborhood children visiting...none are allowed inside if it increases her maximum beyond 10. No daycare providers who adhere to this policy have "helpers". I did this for 26 years...all without help. No one can afford to pay for staff unless an older child over 18 still lives at home and "helps".Â
@Bewitchin1 ... AND how many of her kids are "special needs children" .... lacking in brain development, skill acquirement, meeting childhood makers?
@Bewitchin1  @Oh She was receiving disability payments for several of the older children when the younger herd was born.
Counting her?
@Oh My From what I understand, they're all remarkably healthy...so far.
Yet another example of why people should be forced to have a license to breed
@archon312 I have felt that way on occasion (licensing) but then we'd get idiot politicians deciding who should be licensed to breed. And THAT is a frightening thought.
Suleman should have been charged with child neglect the day she was inseminated.
