Taylor Swift afraid of ending up alone and 'a self-centered, vain human being'

It's a pretty widely known fact that Taylor Swift adheres to the old adage "write what you know," in that what she knows is being a 20something with a seemingly healthy dating life. But that's not all there is to Swift. In the April edition of InStyle magazine, the pop star gets candid about her feelings towards her fear of ending up alone.
"What I worry about is that I never want to end up kind of a self-centered, vain human being," Swift explains in the magazine's cover story.
"My fears circle around me making the wrong choices and messing this up for myself. I don’t wanna end up being awful and intolerable. Alone...sad, with a glass of wine just complaining that my life ended up alone because I pushed everyone away because I thought I was too good to hang out with anybody."
Swift's remarks are somewhat surprising, considering in another cover story this month (for Vanity Fair), she took on two of the most beloved women in show-business right now.
But the 23-year-old admits she doesn't really have it all figured out yet.
"I’ve thought that I did have a dream scenario before but it turns out that I change my mind and that essentially in your 20s all the puzzle pieces of your life are thrown up in the air and they just fall into whatever place and I think that’s healthy."
I wouldn't toss her out of bed for eating crackers, but my wife probably wouldn't let me keep her. Back to the pound for you, missy!
Who the h cares..she's a tool
Bageezes, haters. Who cares one way or the other about Taylor but why all the hate? Does anyone know her personally? Or just how the media choses to portray her? I know I would have had a hell of a time trying to 'come into my own' in my late teens and early twenties with every detail, choice and mistake I made being blasted for the world to see. You never know if people are being genuine and truly caring or just trying to grab a little piece of the fame. It would be hard enough trying to stay grounded, let alone figure yourself out. She didn't have much of a normal high school or dating age life so I can only imagine some of the challenges she faces. Perhaps she's a bit immature in the dating world because she hasn't had a normal education, who knows. But I certainly don't think the girl deserves to be ripped apart. I personally don't really care for her but I will listen to a couple of her songs when they are on. She's only human.
@CRB You ever sat around and heard a bunch of fat, aging, insecure soccer moms grumbling to each other about what a slut the new girl is? Same deal.
Taylor Swift's music sucks but it's interesting watching all hate directed toward her in here.
She needs to face the fact that the man that is truly right for her isn't gonna be loaded with money. So if she doesn't want to see herself as being self-centered, she needs to come down from her high horse and look at some of us good ol' boys. I've posted before how I know that I am the perfect man. The relations I have had all said I was them most wonderful man a woman could have, and why weren't there any other men out there like me. Well, I'm not a looker, just a bit cutesy. Girls today want that hunk, look, bod, cash, attitude, blah, blah. blah, Oh, and did I mention cash?. Then they wonder why their relationships sink. Well DUH!. Why am I single? Read the previous sentence. I know I am the perfect man for her and I have posted it before. She would never regret it, but remember, I ain't loaded with bucks.
Simple, she should just date a regular person and not some vain celebrity.
I used to worry about becoming old, alone, self-centered and vain. I don't worry about it anymore now that I am all those things.
The problem with the Hollywood thing is that no one will tell you when you are being a jerk because they are all hanging on your purse strings. The people who are truly successful and grounded have someone around who isn't afraid to remind them they are but mere humans. She is a beautiful and talented person (for others - her whining makes me want to smack her) but that doesn't make you a nice person.
Pretty woman, nice singing voice, but her songs are so angry. What is up with that? Go hang out with Ke$ha, she knows how to have fun.
I'll help her not be alone once every night. Â And twice the next morning.
What I like is all the criticism a 23-year-old girl gets for speaking out about anxiety over her own success. Pat yourself on the back and blow smoke each up each other's butts about how squared away and successful YOU were at that age.
Probably everybody here knows the melody to Me and Bobby McGee, which Joplin didn't even -write- before she cracked and ODed under the pressure.Â
Kids love Taylor Swift and it's great, because, like Allison Krause and some other fantastic female role models, her image isn't about sex and drugs. The alternatives are Rihanna, Brittney Shpears, Adele (great singer...typical UK pottymouth), Amy Winehouse, old Janis...Â
@Playanekes Somebody has a crush.
@trololol @Playanekes And it's ADORABLE.
@tigress @trololol @Playanekes  Nope. But my daughter's a big fan.
Don't you have some ironing to do?
@Playanekes Yet she needs a boyfriend to validate herself, and when they split she needs to write an album about it.Â
@therandomroger @Playanekes ....and makes millions of a dumb song she probably didn't even write.
She's going to end up 30 and alone because she writes a negative song about every ex as soon as they become an ex. What guy, knowing her history, wants to face that possibility??
Taylor, honey-- self-censor. Stop writing about how some jackhole broke your heart. There are other subjects to write about. Time to grow up.
@havenkt "What guy, knowing her history, wants to face that possibility?"
Well... I guess I'd probably give it run.  I'm just going to tell her my name is Jesus, so if she trashes me in her songs people will think she's Satan.
The only way a man can defend himself in this mixed-up misogynistic world is if he knows how to make a woman look like Satan. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â (That's the whoever told me to dial it down a notch. )
Too late. Â Your fears have come true. Â
Ah the price of having money it can make a real jack wagon out of you in a hurry.
Ah, romance. Either you're one of the beautiful people and attract mates all the time, never knowing if any of them actually like you for your personality or just your looks, losing the enjoyment of being with someone because it's so easy and becomes commonplace. Or, you're not one of the beautiful and so no member of the opposite sex will even give you the time of day, much less consider opening their heart to you. Life really sucks.
Too late! She is already self centered. She thinks she's all that and a bag of chips, but she isn't. This girl may have some talent, but all her music sounds the same! Of course, if the media would back off, things would be different, but so long as they keep harping about her, she'll stay the same self centered, no talent bimbo she is!
@Jfisch "She thinks she's all that and a bag of chips, but she isn't."
Uh.... yeah she is. Â
You must be a real si-reen to be call somebody like her a no-talent bimbo. She's 23. Go ahead and brag about your accomplishments for awhile so we know you're not just some typical bitter old hag.
@Playanekes Wow. Yikes, dude. Dial it back a notch. I'm sure Taylor could give two dumps about the likes of you.
@trololol @Playanekes @Dr. Rawdog
"Exposed?"Â LOL!Â
Expose me now: Tell everbody exactly what you know about me. Make sure you use my real name so I can own you for slander, halfwit, because you don't have any idea who you're talking about.
*cackle*Â Â Weeeeeird.
@Playanekes @Dr. Rawdog haha, when exposed you always claim stalker....
@Silver Surfer @Playanekes
Surfer; it's probably because you suck as a guitar player. ;> I've been playing since 1987 and recorded on three albums, still playing out, but, you're not hearing me whine. The weird thing is if you've been gigging in Portland at all, we probably know each other.
Also, I'm sorry, but, playing guitar isn't hard. Incidentally I play through a JCM900 customized by Joel, the guitar tech from Seether, and mostly I play Epiphones out because I don't have to worry about them getting stolen, but, I have a '78 Gibson LP, a '70s Gibson Joan Jett, a '95 Tele and a white triple-humbucker SG like Mary Ford played.
I found more success flying airplanes. Today I flew a scenic flight from Troutdale to Cascade Locks, and another flight to McMinnville.
The word "fanboy" means nothing to me because I'm not that wound up in that sort of thing.
I listen to Black Sabbath and Floater, not Taylor Swift.
@Playanekes Some of us find success without having some dork in a suit engineering and writing your music.  Not to mention a slew of studio hacks to make you sound like the least common denominator.
Took me about 16 years of hard training to be the guitarist I am today. Â I will NEVER see the money she does for so little work producing a song.
Playanekes is fanboying pretty hard for Taylor swift.
@tigress @Playanekes I don't care about Taylor Swift one way or t'other.
I just think if you're going to come out here and spread hatred and insults and negativity, you ought to be ready to eat a dose of it yourself.Â
The comment "she thinks she's all that and a bag of chips..." well, for 23, she's doing pretty damned good for herself and millions of people love her for something other than wearing meat, showing her junk or singing about abortion or getting laid.  Better her than Madonna.
shes a prude
Since you seem to hate men...you can always go gay
Just the fact that she is worrying about this tells me her ego know no bounds.
"What I worry about is that I never want to end up kind of a self-centered, vain human being,"
Too late!
