Thousands sign US petition to deport Piers Morgan

LONDON (AP) - Tens of thousands of people have signed a petition calling for British CNN host Piers Morgan to be deported from the U.S. over his gun control views.
Morgan has taken an aggressive stand for tighter U.S. gun laws in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut, school shooting. Last week, he called a gun advocate appearing on his "Piers Morgan Tonight" show an "unbelievably stupid man."
Now, gun rights activists are fighting back. A petition created Dec. 21 on the White House e-petition website by a user in Texas accuses Morgan of engaging in a "hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution" by targeting the Second Amendment. It demands he be deported immediately for "exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens."
The petition has already hit the 25,000 signature threshold to get a White House response. By Monday, it had 31,813 signatures.
Morgan seemed unfazed - and even amused - by the movement.
In a series of Twitter messages, he alternately urged his followers to sign the petition and in response to one article about the petition said "bring it on" as he appeared to track the petition's progress.
"If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?" he wrote.

Matthew 5
New International Version (NIV)
Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount
5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.
The Beatitudes
He said:
3 âBlessed are the poor in spirit, Â Â Â for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, Â Â Â for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, Â Â Â for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, Â Â Â for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, Â Â Â for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, Â Â Â for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, Â Â Â for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, Â Â Â for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 âBlessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Much ado about nothing. He probably paid to have the petition created to stir up controversy.
 Dear Piers Morgan unfortunately we were held captive by your government many years ago, and we wanted to be ruled by no man or King, so we took up arms and sent your kinds arss back to where it belonged, and if need be we can exercise that wright. again, Yes you have the wright to disagree , you did many years ago and you do now , as long as that disagreement don't try to force your views down my throat. So please dont come over to our country and tell us how to live, you already tried that some time ago....and lost.
Â
Yes there are many countries that will have you but one must remember they would all be speaking German now if it were not for the USA , who might i enlighten you, Has set more people free from unruly Dictators and POMPOUS SELF RIGHTEOUS Royall Queens like which country you came from.. Being approx 70 short years ago your countrymen, Mr Morgan were in Bomb shelters getting pounded every night for about a entire Month by the German Luftwaffe....It is a wonder to me you would even blast anyone here in America that owns a gun. Yes we have our differences about gun rights here. but please dont come over here with you self centered pompous attitude as if you have the perfect solution.. Â
 @shadowwalker Now there is one that needs to be said, Why ban guns when your country was bomebed. If naything I would welcome guns if I were you because..London, can become a "target" and non of you Countrymen have guns..save for the criminals. It will be the criminals with the guns that will remain free if and when another invasion occurs.
thank you very much well said.... if you dont like it go back to your island
 @shadowwalkerÂ
One would just need to list, wars started, by US over the last 50 years to see that your wax poetic is #2.
 @shadowwalkerÂ
Pompous Self Righteous.....uhhm....the USA right now?

 @HarryJuku now isn't that the pot calling the kettle black...
Frankly, considering that PM comes from a country which drives on the wrong side of the road. seperates the classes by legislature and finally have ther monarch paying SOME raxes (Only on a small portion of her considerable income) leads me to think this guy is REALLY an idiot....So, I take pity on him....

 @HarryJuku  @disgustedman Really?  That all 'ya got?  Lame.
Send this arrogant bastard packin. Where do I sign?

 @HarryJuku Much like your ridiculous comments.
He is a undesirable alien causing discontent and strive between US citizens. Â That is reason for deportation.
Piers, if you truly believe that tighter gun control laws will equal fewer gun murders in this country, it is you, sir, who are an "unbelievable stupid man".
Send this communist back to his Muslim family in Greece! Take his Jehovah's Witness friends with him.
Yes because his home country is so much safer with its gun ban.

I may not always agree with all of you on this board but I think we can agree in wishing peace on earth and goodwill towards all men. Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you have a happy and prosperous new year.
@peckishpete .......and the same to you Pete.
If we get to deport him for his 1st Amendment rights, then throw out the Westboro Baptist Church too.
 @Bio Sphere They're US citizens, this tool is not. Big difference.
No difference at all, Bucko. Non citizens have the same rights under the law as the rest of us.
 @Mechanic Big difference, fucko. âYour opinion is protected, your presence in the U.S. is not. See Kleindienst v. Mandel (1972)
 @NGerblansky So you enjoy promoting a hate agenda, will you yell, God hates fags at the Newton funeral, like they planned to do?
 @Bio Sphere That's quite a leap. I'm simply posting facts, you're choosing to remain ignorant. His presence in this country is not protected.
@Bio Sphere I second that
Â
The irony in all of this is, by deporting him, we are denying him his first amendment right to free speech. I don't like what a lot of people in this country have to say, but they have the right to say it under the constitution, so isn't it a bit hypocritical to do this? I think so.
 @paulelijah Not all Constitutional rights are enjoyed [by foreign natinoals] to the same extent as US citizens and LPRs.  I don't mind him having an opinion, and modestly expressing that opinion. Where he crosses the line, is when he starts being actively engaged in a political movement that involves US Federal law.  He is still a foreign national getting himself involved with domestic US politics.  I say, let the petition go forward -- news talking heads aren't all that hard to find (he can be replaced, and rather easily at that).  At the very least, turn off CNN in the meantime.
 @ThePosterFormerlyKnownAsPhredE
Sure, aliens might not have a right to own a gun, which is fine, but this certainly falls within free speech. He suggested tighter gun control, the horror. Not illegal.

 @HarryJuku They love their country and their constitution.  Clearly you'd rather belittle someone for standing for what they believe in and resort to snide attacks on their intelligence, versus having an educated discussion about an issue.  Something which is obviously beyond your capability, based on the ridiculous tripe that you post on this website's comments section.  What's wrong with YOU??
 @Doc HollidayÂ
The discussion isn't about loving their country or their constitution. Don't obfuscate, he suggested gun control. The right to BEAR arms and gun control have nothing to do with each other.
Â
If we deported every newscaster calling people "stupid idiots", one certain channel would be all but defunct and the rest would be half eliminated at best.
 @Bio Sphere  @Doc Holliday ". . . shall not be infringed."
 @Bio Sphere "The right to BEAR arms and gun control have nothing to do with each other."Are you really that stupid!?

 @HarryJuku Personally no one really cares what you feel....
 @HarryJuku  @'CouvGuy Ah Harry, always quick with the jab, aren't you...??  Such entertainment...  If the best you can do is to quote from "Legally Blonde" we should be in for some really intellectually stimulating conversation....idiot.
 @HarryJuku  @Doc Holliday "....Sure enough to bet your life on it?..."   Sounds like a not so thinly veiled threat to me, Harry. Â
 @HarryJuku Entitlement?  How about inalienable RIGHT.  Quit twisting stuff to fit your point of view and argument.
Â
You're also not a mental health professional, so how about we keep the immature armchair diagnosis to ourselves. Â It's a joke, but I understand that you're unable to see it for what it is.
He is paid to be an a**hole to better the ratings.

 @HarryJuku He just speaks the things you want to hear, nothing more.
 @HarryJuku  @Ghostcapt Maybe we can deport you, too.
CouvGuy, is a waste of time trying to be sensible or logical with Liberals. The more mistakes Obama makes, the more Obama hurts the American economy, and unemployment continues to grow, Liberals will become increasingly  delusional. Their fantasies of a Liberal Utopia are crumbling before their eyes. The occupiers were the first to "crack", and now we see the rest following suit. Â
 @last boyscout You didn't use "liberal" enough.
Â
By the way what IS a liberal in your definition? Someone who can think for themselves?
 @last boyscout We're on the same page, my friend, but I will continue to try.  Benjamin Franklin said it very well;  "...When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic....".  Perhaps we're seeing that come true....

 @Fed up Fed  @last If you look county by county rather than state by state, red counties are paying more into federal programs than they receive back, and blue counties are receiving more than they put in. The exception to the rule is in New England, where there are a lot of affluent blue counties.Â
 @Fed up Fed  @'CouvGuy Wow, now I suck.  Nice.  Actually, I wonder if you are the confused one. I quoted Benjamin Franklin and said I agreed.  Your counter was that Blue states pay more into Federal programs than they take back.  Do you disagree with the quote, my agreement with it, or do you just like to take cheap shots for entertainment value..??
Â
And, when it comes to basic rights and freedoms, to the direction our country is going, I don't think playing around is entertaining at all.
 @Fed up Fed  @last I know I'm getting close when the personal insults start to fly.  Well done....So, what you are saying is that the tax system is equitable, the government doesn't trample on our civil rights, and everything is cool...right?
 @last boyscout Obama hurt America so bad that they re-elected him!
 @CorporateCowMoo Freeloaders will always vote for another paycheck. No surprise there.
 @Fed up Fed You misunderstand (albeit intentionally) my meaning of the term "freeloader". Liberals, having stayed in school longer, tend to land "government" jobs. Tax assessors, Professors, Lawyers, Teachers, and the usual bean counters and pencil pushers that our government is so overloaded with. While there are many government workers that are to be commended for their service, Military and the like, there are far too many other government employees that are just that. Freeloaders. And they exist by living off the taxpayers, and feeding at the government trough. And the majority of them voted for Obama, if only to assure their next paycheck.  Â
 @Fed up Fed  @last  @CorporateCowMoo you are totally wrong, liberals are more likely to have PhDs than conservatives, they are also MORE likely to be freeloaders. Obama took over 90% of the welfare vote.Â
Â
Also, if you look at the red state-blue state welfare fallacy, and look by county rather than by state, the highest welfare counties are always the bluest, regardless of what state they are in.Â
 @Fed up Fed  @last  @CorporateCowMoo Please add corporate welfare / unwarranted tax  breaks to the list of 'freeloaders' too.
Many private companies/corporations are also 'freeloaders' upon the US taxpayer too.
