FAIRVIEW, Ore. - A man captured after a police chase ended in a crash in Fairview said he should be on the professional racing circuit.

According to police, 34-year-old Elisei Gale tried to run down an officer during a chase along Interstate 84. The officer was putting down spike strips in an effort to stop the car.

A short time later, the suspect's car did come to a halt with blown tires on Fairview Road. Police found what they said is methamphetamine and identity theft materials in Gale's vehicle.
