Two sue Fresh Del Monte over back pay, overtime
PORTLAND, Ore. - Two local workers who lost their jobs in a federal immigration raid this past summer are now suing their former employer.
Maria del Dilar Delgado and Abdia Cortez Liberio have filed a class action lawsuit against Fresh Del Monte Produce in north Portland.
The two are suing for back pay and unpaid overtime. The suit also claims the workers were refused rest breaks.
Over 160 workers were arrested on immigration violations during the raid in June of 2007.
