Sheriff's office using Facebook in kidnapping case
A Facebook Wall posting from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

ALOHA, Ore. – On Saturday the Washington County Sheriff's Office sent out the following hastily-worded tweet: "We are looking for this man in Aloha. His girlfriend just escaped from him and said he had kidnapped her. He is..."

The link from that tweet on Twitter lands on the sheriff's office Facebook Wall photo, showing the man pictured above. The Facebook photo caption also provides further information from the Washington County Sheriff's Office representative on Facebook.

Deputies say the man was last seen in the area of Southwest Farmington Road and Southwest 185th Avenue.

"We think he is on foot, but he may have hitched a ride or taken a bus out fo the are[a]," the Facebook spokesperson reports. "Please call 911 if you see him."

We now know that on Saturday morning a woman ran into the Postal Annex at Southwest Farmington Road and 185th Avenue. She reported she had been kidnapped, assaulted and forced to drive from Eugene to Aloha by the man pictured above – a felon recently out of prison. Further details.

Around 3 p.m. Saturday we received the following additional information from the sheriff's office:

"About 10:51 a.m. [Saturday] sheriff's deputies responded to a female 911 caller at the Postal Annex located at 18645 SW Farmington Road in the community of Aloha. She reported that her boyfriend, 27-year-old Raymond Hetman from Eugene, had kidnapped her in Eugene yesterday and forced her to drive to Aloha last night.

"Mr. Hetman is originally from Aloha and has been living in Eugene since he was released from prison a few months ago. He was in prison for Theft I and Attempt to Elude a police officer.

"The female victim told deputies that Mr. Hetman physically assaulted her several times yesterday and last night. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was not transported to a hospital. When they got to Aloha they slept in the car overnight and this morning the victim escaped. She ran to the Postal Annex and called 911."

Raymond Hetman is described as a white male, 6-feet-3-inches tall, 200 to 215 pounds with short blond hair. He could be wearing wire-rimmed glasses, T-shirt and blue jeans. A Washington County Sheriff's spokesperson says Hetman is "significantly heavier" than he was when the mug shot above was taken, in 2007.

Deputies have since seized the victim's car, which was driven up from Eugene. They say Hetman could still be on foot or could be riding public transportation.

Deputies are actively searching for Hetman and ask that the public keep a lookout for him. Hetman has a felony warrant from the State Parole Board unrelated to this incident.

"If you see Raymond Hetman call 911 and report him immediately," the sheriff's office reports. "Do not attempt to contact him."
