Cops collar motorcyclist going 122 mph
NEAR CANBY, Ore. – Police said a motorcyclist they stopped on south Barlow Road was going 122 mph when he was spotted by an officer.
Aurora Police Officer Scott Reilly said he spotted the speeding rider at about 6:30 p.m. on December 3 when his in-car radar system the rider was going 120 mph. The speed limit on the road was 55 mph and it was dark at the time.
As the rider got closer to the patrol car, the speed increased to 122 mph, according to Officer Reilly.
Reilly turned around to pursue the motorcyclist and was able to pull the rider over with the assistance of another patrolman.
Adam Wayne Black, 31 of Woodburn, was cited for Reckless Driving.
He was transported to the Clackamas County Jail and cited and released for Reckless Driving and driving 122MPH in a 55 mph zone with a court date of January 3, 2011.
Officers did not say what specific motorcycle Mr. Black was riding except that it was red.
