Police: Two 12-year-old girls sexually assaulted at Idaho Falls party
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - A police report shows two 12-year-old girls were sexually assaulted at a house party last Thursday in Idaho Falls.

Police have arrested two suspects, Ronald Barrigan, 20, and a 16-year-old.

Barrigan allegedly had sex with one of the girls, and the 16-year-old allegedly had sexual relations with the other girl.

The man and teen met the girls at Fred Meyer, but police don't know if the girls knew the pair, or not.

"[The girls] did go to a party with these two guys, and there was alcohol present at the party. There was mention that [the girls] had at least tried some of the alcohol," said Sergeant Phil Grimes with Idaho Falls Police.

Police also don't yet know if the girls were intoxicated, but they say more parental involvement might have helped the situation.

"Parents need to be aware of where their kids are and what they're doing," said Grimes. "Some kids will say 'Hey, I'm spending the night at this person's house,' and that person tells their parents they're spending the night at the friend's house and ultimately they end up running around town all by themselves and doing whatever they want," said Grimes.

Though the incidents happened over a week ago, police didn't find out until one of the counselors at the school the girls attend became aware of what had happened.
