Washougal mayor in hot water over traffic incident
WASHOUGAL, Wash. – Washougal's mayor could face charges of impersonating a police officer after an incident on Interstate 5 this past Friday.
A state trooper claims Mayor Sean Guard illegally flashed emergency lights at a slow-moving vehicle in the fast lane on Friday.
Mayor Guard drives a city-owned vehicle once used by the police department.
Guard claims he flashed his headlights, not the emergency lights, at the vehicle in front of him.
It's now up to the Cowlitz County prosecutor whether to file charges in the incident.
