On November 22, shortly after 2:00 a.m., the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Silverton Fire Department responded to the 18300 block of  Abiqua Road Northeast on the report of a single vehicle accident. 

The road is located in a rural area near Silver Falls State Park.

On arrival, deputies located a crashed 1994 Honda Civic.  The vehicle had left the roadway and impacted a large tree near the bank of Abiqua Creek. 

A single occupant was found deceased inside the vehicle.  Alexander Frassenei, an 18-year-old resident of Silverton, Oregon, appeared to have died on impact. 

The Sheriff's Office investigation is ongoing but speed and road conditions are believed to have been factors in the crash
