Due to hurricane, MLS postpones Timbers game against D.C. United
NEW YORK -- Citing general public safety concerns because of the potential impact of Hurricane Irene, officials from Major League Soccer postponed the game between D.C. United and the Portland Timbers previously scheduled for Saturday at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C.
The game will be rescheduled and the new date and time announced next week. The Timbers have made arrangements to return to Portland today.
