CORVALLIS, Ore. - An 8-year-old girl from Oregon who was recently featured on ABC's hit show 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' has passed away.

Jenessa "Boey" Byers had been battling a very rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.

Over a thousand people, including members of the 2007 Oregon State baseball team, helped build her family a new 4,000 square foot home in Lewisburg (near Corvallis) this summer. Watch the video

The family said their daughter was recovering from two surgeries to remove a brain tumor and repair a fractured hip when she went back into the hospital this week with pneumonia.
