Power restored to 1,400 in downtown Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. – Over 1,400 downtown Portland customers were without power for almost 2 1/2 hours Tuesday night.
According to PGE, the power outage was due to equipment failure at a substation. The power was out from about 6:30 p.m. to 8:50 p.m.
Traffic lights went dark, power went out to MAX light rail lines and some restaurants had to close while others broke out the candles for customers and loaded in ice to keep food from spoiling.
PGE has not said what specific kind of equipment failed and caused the blackout.
dont forget about us measley east siders, we didnt have power either! it thought it was fun though :)
People on Burnisde. Its called a four way stop when the lights go out. It was like taking your life in your own hands if you had to cross burnside last night at times during this outage.Â
@jpdx00 Or any normal day in Portland. People in Portland are baffled at how the rule of the road operate.Â
