17-year-old rescued off Oregon coast

PORT ORFORD, Ore. -- A 17-year-old boy had to be airlifted from a commercial fishing vessel near Cape Blanco State Park Monday night.

He was reportedly suffering from chest pains and loss of vision; his current condition is unknown.

The Coast Guard received a request from crewmembers aboard the fishing vessel "Bess Chett" to medevac the 17-year-old at approxomately 7 p.m.

An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Sector/Air Station North Bend was diverted to the scene and hoisted the teen aboard the medevac helicopter.

He was transferred to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay for evaluation.
