MARION COUNTY - A former Department of Justice employee who stole more than $10,000 in unclaimed child support, in a scheme that she and her fiance cooked up, was sentenced to 120 days in jail and five years probation on Monday.

Cynthia Woodard pleaded guilty to the charges.  Her fiance, Glenn Huiett Jr., pleaded guilty last week and was sentenced to 60 days in jail and five years probation.

Woodard was an accounting technician for the state's child support division, which allowed her access to child support payment accounts.

Her job was to help find addresses for individuals who had undelivered payments.  However, she instead sent debit cards linked to the accounts to false addresses at vacant homes.  Huiett would then pick up the debit cards from the mailboxes and withdraw the money.
