FIFE, Wash. - A drunk driver slammed into the rear of a Washington State Patrol trooper's car early Saturday morning while the trooper was on a traffic stop with another drunk driver in his back seat. The trooper and two others were injured.

The trooper had earlier pulled over an 18-year-old Renton resident along Interstate 5 near Fife on suspicion of drunken driving and placed her under arrest in the back seat of his 2006 Crown Victoria patrol. A civilian rider was in the front seat of the patrol car.

According to police, at about 1:15 a.m., a 2007 BMW 328 XI driven by 21-year-old Vannsarady Seng of Seattle came around the corner and plowed into the rear of the troopers’ patrol car.

The impact pushed the patrol car into the rear of the 18-year-old Renton resident's 1993 Nissan Sentra, which was pulled over along the highway in front of the patrol car.

The trooper, civilian rider and 18-year-old were all transported to local hospitals with facial lacerations and possible back injuries.

Seng was uninjured. He was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault. A passenger in Seng’s BMW was uninjured in the collision.

All three vehicles involved in the wreck were totalled, including the trooper's patrol car.
