LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore. - A 19-year-old was cited after he failed to report that his truck accidentally slid into a Lincoln County reservoir and became completely submerged over the holiday weekend.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, on Monday Richard M. Davenport of Rainier, Wash., parked the 1997 Ford F-250 on an unstable surface at the water's edge near the Big Creek Reservoir boat launch. After the truck sank, Davenport just left the truck underwater and left.

A fisherman later reported discovering the submerged vehicle. Authorities later tracked down Davenport, who was cited for littering in a waterway, offensive littering and placing offensive substances in water and then released.

Officials did not think pollutants released into the reservoir would impact the water supply.
