CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - The Benton County Sheriff's Office said there were only minor injuries when a rented helicopter crashed near the towers on Marys Peak Monday night.

Authorities on Tuesday identified the pair involved in the crash as 22-year-old Rory Kirkendall of Hillsboro and 24-year-old Paul Oldenburg of Portland. The helicopter was a rental from Hillsboro Aviation and was coming from Troutdale, the sheriff's office said.

A woman reported the crash Monday night, telling the dispatcher her son had seen two people walk away from the wreckage to a nearby campground for help.

Sgt. Jenna Morrison said the people aboard were treated at the scene and she did not know if they later went to a hospital.
