CANBY, Ore. (AP) - A 70-year-old farmer suffered chest and other injuries when he was run over by his tractor.

A Canby Fire District spokesman said the incident happened Monday morning at a farm just outside Canby. Despite his injuries, the farmer managed to walk to a barn and phone 911.

The farmer was taken by helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, where he underwent surgery. His name was not immediately released.
