Corvallis drivers attacked with unknown projectiles

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- A car window struck by a projectile shattered inches from a passenger's head, one of at least five vehicles damaged July 14 and July 21.

Corvallis police have responded to numerous reports of vehicles being struck by unknown projectiles in the area of Southwest Philomath Boulevard between Southwest 15th Street and Southwest 26th Street.

The specific type or types of projectile being used may include rocks and/or pellet guns, according to police.

The projectiles have caused several thousand dollars in damage, according to police.

Vehicles have suffered major dents and deep scratches as well as broken windows.
