Astoria, Ore., settles landslide lawsuit
By Associated PressASTORIA, Ore. (AP) - The city of Astoria has settled a lawsuit by a couple whose home was damaged in a December 2005 landslide. Linda and Howland Ho had sued the city and Dawson Enterprises, the builder of the new subdivision above Astoria High School. The Astoria City Council approved the $125,000 settlement on Monday. The city had to ask for federal help to deal with the massive landslide that began early in 2005 and slowly threatened several blocks. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
