ALOHA, Ore. - Two people, including a Beaverton police detective, were hospitalized after a minivan and an SUV collided in an intersection late Wednesday night.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. at the intersection of TV Highway and Southwest 198th.

According to police, two Beaverton detectives were involved in a chase when the crash happened.

They were trying to apprehend an armed robbery suspect from a shooting that had occurred earlier in the evening.  Another armed robbery suspect has already been taken into custody.

Details about how the crash happened were unclear.  Police said that although the detectives were in an unmarked SUV, they did have their emergency lights activated.

One detective was taken to the hospital with internal injuries.  One adult in the minivan suffered internal injuries as well and was also taken to the hospital.

Three children in the van were not injured.

The suspect that was being chased was eventually apprehended.
