PORTLAND, Ore. - The owner of a Mercedes-Benz sedan that ran over a man's feet on Interstate 205 while he was changing a tire has come forward.

Pieces of side paneling were found at the scene identifying the kind of car that hit Glen Ridderbush.

Ridderbush said he was changing a flat tire on the freeway Wednesday morning at about 2 a.m. when he was hit.

So far, police have not identified or arrested the person who came forward and KATU News has learned that he and his lawyer are speaking with police.

Meanwhile, Ridderbush, who works on his feet at the Portland International Airport, has a long recovery ahead from a broken foot and several broken toes. He is in a Portland hospital.

Ridderbush told KATU News that he does not blame the person who hit him.

"It was an accident," Ridderbush said, "I'm not blaming him or myself. It was just a stupid accident at two o'clock in the morning."

Ridderbush says it could be months before he can go back to work, and he doesn't know how he'll afford the time he has to take off from work to recover.
