Albany drug bust nets pot, meth and $55,000 in cash

On Friday, July 25, 2008, at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Albany Police Department, assisted by the Linn County Sheriff's Office, Lebanon Police Department and Sweet Home Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 4000 block of 21st Avenue Southeast in Albany.

An ongoing investigation by Albany Police Narcotics Detectives revealed marijuana and methamphetamine distribution by the occupants of the home. 

In excess of $55,000 in cash, just under two ounces of marijuana, approximately three and on-half ounces of methamphetamine, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia were seized pursuant to the search warrant.

The following Albany residents were arrested and lodged in the Linn County Jail as a result of this investigation and search warrants:

33-year-old David Balderas is charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana, Frequenting a place where Controlled Substances are Used, Child Neglect in the First Degree, Theft II by Receiving, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, Probation Violation, and several outstanding warrants.

28-year-old Amy Lynn Balderas is charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful delivery of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana, Frequenting a place where Controlled Substances are Used, Child Neglect in the First Degree, Theft II by Receiving, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, and Probation Violation.
